When I’m not otherwise occupied with various hobbies, reading headlines on HN, indoor rock climbing at GRIP Nijmegen, or attending concerts at Merleyn, you’ll find me working on Go projects, data processing in PHP, code reviews, and Linux systems management in my day job at Hexon.
Moreover, I run a small hosting/mobile telecom/ICT consultancy called Wolk ICT. The hosting part focuses on providing virtual machines with root access based on QEMU/KVM. For mobile telecom, Wolk ICT allows consumers and business to route their mobile phone number to their own PBX.
Previously, I was co-founder of Limesco, a bespoke, Dutch telecom company with open ideals. Limesco ended their business in 2019, but I still keep the rather informational wiki online for reference.
On the side, I operate an autonomous system (AS) as one of the networks comprising the internet. It’s still under construction, as I’m learning on the go what the border gateway protocol (BGP) does, and what goes into defining a routing policy (thanks Pim for the excellent blog post). Read more about this autonomous system on the web page of AS206292.
I’m a member of a few networking-related associations:
as well as Vereniging Open Netwerk Toegang, that is working on providing a mobile private APN that terminates on your own network.
Of course, life wouldn’t be complete without doing things on a voluntary basis for the common good. I’ve been providing my experience in systems management and software development for the Dutch Institute for Vulnerability Disclosure, or DIVD, since late 2021. They scan the internet for vulnerabilities and report those findings to the respective owners in order to improve the overall digital resilience of systems connected to the internet.
